From: Walter Hampson To: All Thread: BGFAX & Harmony 33.6k (1/4) Date: 28-May-97, 1:37pm (Ref# 5377) Hi Folks Has anyone succeded in getting BGFax to work with a Harmony 33.6k modem. The mondem is a class 1 fax, and uses the Rockwell chipset RCV336ACF/SP. I'd realy appreciate any help with this, as I'm trying to set this modem up on a friends system, and he wants to use the fax side as well. The modem works fine as a modem, it answers as a Fax under Winfax etc, but as yet unable to get it working with his FD/RA/OS2. I suspect that this modem and perhaps chipset has a flawed adaptive answering. Cheers Walter --- * Origin: Wally's Board Livingston Scotland (2:259/27)

The init strings for Class 1 adaptive answering is fairly simple: ATZ AT+FCLASS=1 AT+FAE=1 Answer with "ATA" The fax connection string is "FAX" Regards, bgfax author

Guillot to Walter Hampson <=- BG> The init strings for Class 1 adaptive answering is fairly simple: Nod, I know that from your docs - and have set it up that way, however when a call comes in it answers, then drops carrier - and then freezes, hence my original question - has anyone succeeded in getting one of these modems to work <g>. They appear to be fine either as a modem or as a FAX system, but do not appear to be able to (for the sake of a term) task switch. I've seen you programme working with Zooms, Zoltrix, USR's Hayes, and would have thought it would work with the Harmony - which has the Rockwell Chip set, but it is beginning to look as if these modems may have Faulty Adaptive answering - which is no reflection on your Programme, but a reflection on the modem. Thanks for your reply. Regards Walter --- * Origin: Wally's Board Livingston Scotland (2:259/27)

Show me a clip of the BGFAX.LOG for when this happens, and I can look more closely at the problem. Regards, bgfax author
